Ideology is a comprehensive way at looking at the world in terms of common sense. Hegemony is the construction and sustaining of these ideas such as government, school, work, etc. The Urinal Game is a game where the player is presented with a typical male restroom situation where the player must choose a urinal to urinate in. In each scenario, there is only one “correct” urinal to choose. The ideology is that men must urinate as far as possible from each other and leave “buffer space urinals” in between one another. This Flash game is a type of hegemony that sustains this ideology. Without such an ideology for the need of “buffer space urinals”, men could use the restroom at full efficiency without feeling awkward about urinating next to another male.
